In September 2019, North Arkansas College became the first FANUC Authorized Satellite Training Center for robotics in the state of Arkansas. The new designation elevates Northark’s robotics program by providing a training facility in closer proximity to students and industries across the region. Northark becomes one of only 13 centers in the U.S. Northark has offered robotics courses for over a decade taught by John Levy, a Northark technical instructor who recently became a FANUC Certified FAST instructor. Levy teaches students about six FANUC robots housed on the College's North Campus.

According to FANUC America, based in Rochester Hills, Mich., they have over 24 million products installed worldwide and are the most familiar brand of manufacturing automation.

Meet the Instructor

John Levy has been an instructor at Northark for over a decade, teaching technical classes involving robotics and electronics. He recently became a FANUC Certified FAST instructor, which allows him to teach participants about the College's six FANUC robots. Levy has been instrumental in bringing the popular VEX robotics to Northark. The program gives middle school and high school students a chance to build their own robots and compete in events in both the fall and spring semesters. Levy also works with kids during the College's summer camps. The camps are designed to expose students to robotics and manufacturing processes and to learn more about career options in those fields.
